Dance Workshop

The Modern Dance Faculty at the University of Utah is excited to offer our Annual High School Dance Workshop on Saturday, October 20, 2007. The workshop will feature an array of classes taught by the University of Utah Modern Dance Faculty and invited guests. The workshop will be held from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm in the Marriott Center for Dance. The fee is $20.00 per student for workshop participation and includes classes, mini-performance and lunch. There will be no charge for the high school teachers and a special Pilates class is being planned during the lunch hour. Proceeds from this workshop go directly into the departmental scholarship fund to provide monies for incoming freshmen. We are happy to offer this workshop for two reasons: (1) to recognize efforts to further dance in Utah and (2) to introduce students to the University of Utah’s Department of Modern Dance. We hope that you will be able to join us.

Schedule of Events:

9:30-10:00 am          Registration in MCD foyer

10:00-10:15 am        Introduction

10:20-11:20 am        Modern Technique

11:25-12:25 pm        Improvisation

12:30-1:15 pm          Lunch (PROVIDED)

1:20-2:15 pm            Jazz, Hip-Hop, or African Dance

2:30-3:30 pm            PDC Informal Concert
