Carly Allred, Assistant Professor, Lecturer, graduated from the University of Utah with an M.F.A. in dance in August of 2007. She received her B.A. in dance from Brigham Young University in 2003. While attending the University of Utah, Carly was awarded a University Teaching Assistantship, the Dee Winterton Teaching Award, and the Elizabeth R. Hayes Scholarship. Carly has performed in the works of Steve Koester, Abby Fiat, Kaye Richards, Jose Navas, Paul Taylor, Alwin Nikolais, Helen Tamaris, Bill Evans, Jen Nugent, Paul Matteson, Marilyn Berrett and Caroline Prohosky nationally and internationally. She has taught in China, India, San Francisco, Arizona, New Mexico, and throughout the state of Utah. Carly currently teaches technique, composition, dance for the camera, freshmen orientation and also choreographs for and co-directs the Performing Dance Company. She served on the Utah Dance Education Organization Board as a student representative in 2006-2007.
