Integrative Arts Class
This course is an interdisciplinary course taught by a number of faculty members from music, visual art, and dance. The premise of the class is that technology is a meeting ground for all of the arts. Taught within a laboratory environment, the course provides a context for the exploration of how various art forms address time, space, image, light, narrative, kinetics and form. Students explore languages, metaphor and meaning-making in a very open, process oriented way. Discussion of content, whether abstract or narrative, and its myriad relationships to form, is a key theme that weaves throughout the course. Within this collaboratively taught, technologically supported environment, ideas can find their most efficient and effective expression by being informed by, rather than restrained by specific disciplines.
