ABOUT THE LOCATION
For more information visit http://songdoibd.com
The program is located in the Songdo International Business District (Songdo IBD). Songdo IBD is the largest private real estate development in history. Completed in 2015, the development is part of a $83 billion effort by the Korean government to form an international business district. It is built from scratch on 1,500 acres of reclaimed land from the Yellow Sea along Incheon's waterfront, connected to Incheon International Airport by a 7.6 mile reinforced concrete highway bridge called Incheon Bridge, and is a 60 minute ride southwest of Seoul. Songdo IBD was designed and created to be a "ubiquitous city", or a smart city, where computers are built into the buildings and streets. Residents can video-conference with their neighbors, attend classes remotely, control lighting, heating, air conditioning and more, all with the push of a button on a control panel. It is a sustainable city with more than 40% of its area reserved for green space, including a park of 100 acres, 16 miles of bicycling lanes, numerous charging stations for electric vehicles, and a waste collection system that eliminates the need for trash trucks.
