New Book from Luc Vanier: “The Dance of Everyday Movement”

This autumn, Professor Luc Vanier launches his new book, The Dance of Everyday Movement: A Developmental Framework for Whole-Body Integration, on November 3, co-authored with Elizabeth Johnson (UMBC) and Rebecca Nettl-Fiol (UIUC). Published by University of Illinois Press, it's Vanier's second book with the press, following Dance and the Alexander Technique (2011).

“The Dance of Everyday Movement is a powerful integration of science and Somatics, and reveals how small shifts in awareness can transform movement, reduce pain, and bring greater ease and joy to everyday life.”

— Eric Franklin, author of Dynamic Alignment through Imagery

“This book is a fascinating and groundbreaking guide to movement re-education. It offers systematic and clearly articulated explorations for identifying and modifying one’s habitual movement patterns to find improved function, better health and more satisfaction in being alive.”

— Bill Evans, founder of the Somatic Dance Conference and Performance Festival

Engaging and aimed at non-specialists, The Dance of Everyday Movement invites practitioners from all walks of life to embrace ongoing development, resilience, and a more embodied and joyful way of living.
