Originally from Colorado, Céline Nielson grew up immersed in movement and visual art, developing an early love for dance, painting, drawing, and storytelling. She earned her BFA in Dance with a concentration in Modern Dance and a minor in Digital Marketing, graduating summa cum laude in December 2023 from Point Park University in Pittsburg, PA. Following graduation, Céline moved to London for an apprenticeship with The Place and London Contemporary Dance School, where she expanded her artistic practice through opportunities to work with acclaimed choreographers and artists, including James Cousins and Vicky Mantey, and to perform and create within spaces such as the historic Wilton’s Music Hall.

Céline is currently pursuing her MFA in Modern Dance and Choreography at the University of Utah School of Dance and is on track to also earn a Graduate Certificate in Screendance. Her creative practice lives at the intersection of movement, cinematography, photography, and filmmaking, with a particular interest in how the camera can reshape the way movement is witnessed and felt. She is currently developing and producing an original short film while continuing to explore interdisciplinary approaches to choreography and visual storytelling.

Alongside her artistic work, Céline is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and works as a Junior Editor at Boncom, a Salt Lake City advertising agency committed to “creating good.” Her experience across dance, film, photography, editing, marketing, and production continues to inform the way she approaches collaboration and the creative process.

At the heart of Céline’s work is a deep love for people and the spaces that bring them together. She loves curating environments for connection, collaborating with artists across disciplines, and documenting the fleeting moments she shares with friends, family, and the people she loves. Whether through movement, a camera, or a shared creative process, Céline is interested in making work that invites people to notice more deeply, feel more fully, and hold onto the moments that might otherwise pass by.
