Prof. Kim is a leading voice in Korean contemporary dance, serving as Professor and Chair at Changwon National University and Artistic Director of Hoon Dance Company. He earned his B.A. and M.A. in Dance from Sejong University and a Ph.D. from Chung-Ang University.

He has choreographed for landmark national events, including the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics, the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and the Busan Asian Para Games, while also presenting works internationally at the DUMBO Dance Festival (USA) and in China and Saipan.

Known for his emotionally resonant and culturally rooted choreography, his recent works include Three Women, Light and Salt, and the opera Carmen. He is the recipient of numerous national dance awards and holds leadership roles in multiple Korean dance associations, actively shaping the next generation of artists.
