Complimentary tickets will be distributed to the School of Dance (SOD) community for all mainstage performances in the Hayes Christensen Theatre (HCT) of the Marriott Center for Dance (MCD). This does not include special engagements, rentals, student-choreographed shows, nor non-general admission performances in the building. When a mainstage performance happens outside of the MCD, special directions will be given on how complimentary tickets will be distributed.

Complimentary Tickets for Employees

Current employees of the SOD will receive unlimited complimentary tickets for their own viewing of a concert. This ticket is for the School of Dance employee ONLY. This ticket is not transferrable to another person and must be used by the employee of the School of Dance.

Complimentary tickets should be reserved online ahead of time through the UtahPresents ticketing website and picked up at the MCD Box Office. In rare instances, the SOD employee may pick up complimentary tickets from the House Manager 30 minutes before the start of a production without having reserved online ahead of time. The House Manager will be provided a list of those that should receive tickets and will keep tally to ensure compliance and integrity. Tickets may be picked up under the name of the person they are issued.

Complimentary Tickets for Guests

Current members of the SOD community will receive complimentary tickets to be given to their guests according to their position in the school. These ticket amounts are for the entire run of a particular production. Amounts do not compile over categories. A person who qualifies for tickets over multiple categories may claim the highest quantity for only one category. These tickets are transferable and do not have to be used by the person whose name they may be under:

•  SOD Faculty, SOD Staff, CFA Staff, and Students performing in concert:            2 tickets

• Concert Director, Rehearsal Assistants, and Choreographers:                            6 tickets

Complimentary tickets may be picked up from the House Manager 30 minutes before the start of a production. The House Manager will be provided a list of those that should receive tickets and will keep tally to ensure compliance and integrity. Tickets may be picked up under the name of the person they are issued.

ARTSPASS: Currently enrolled students to the University of Utah receive one free ticket during the entire run of a particular mainstage concert via the ArtsPass program. A valid student uCard must be presented at the Box Office prior to the performance to take advantage of this opportunity. SOD students should use their ArtsPass privilege before trying to get complementary tickets for their own personal use.

All entries to the theater must be from the front lobby with no exceptions. Violation of this policy will result in removal of comp ticket privileges.
