Join the University of Utah School of Dance for our 2025-26 inaugural season concert. Coinciding with Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, the School of Dance’s Latinx Heritage Celebration will feature dance works by all Chicanx, Latinx/e, and Latin American choreographers: nationally renowned choreographer, co-founder of the Latinx Dance Educators Alliance, and former Director of Ballet Hispánico’s School of Dance in New York City, Michelle Manzanales; multi-awarded Mexican artist, UU School of Dance alumna and recently named Guggenheim Fellow Stephanie Garcia; Tejana, Salt Lake City-based alumna of the UU School of Dance, Roxanne Gray, who is also Founder/Director of the multidisciplinary arts and performance series 801 Salon; Brazilian dancer/choreographer and  Ballet West soloist Vinicius Lima.

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of “Chicano Awareness Week”, held at the University of Utah in March 1975. In honor of this anniversary and of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, the School of Dance hosts an exhibition, half a century in motion, highlighting research that explores these (his)stories and futures. The exhibit will be displayed in the Marriott Center for Dance lobby from September 15 to October 15, 2025.
