  • If you have not already done so, apply to the University of Utah at admissions.utah.edu/apply.

  • Once you have been admitted to the University*, you will:

    1. Pay your enrollment deposit: admissions.utah.edu

    2. Apply for on-campus housing** through your University CIS account: housing.utah.edu

    3. Register for Orientation: orientation.utah.edu

    *Admissions to the University does not mean that you have been accepted to the College of Fine Arts performing arts area in which you auditioned. You will be contacted directly by the School of Dance with the results of your audition.

  • You will first meet your academic advisor at Orientation, where we will assist you in registering for your first-term classes. Orientations take place during the summer before classes begin in the Fall.

  • We encourage students in the College of Fine Arts to meet with an academic advisor each term to discuss your academic goals and educational opportunities. Incoming students are required to meet with an academic advisor during their first term as part of the University’s Milestone Advising Program. As a potential student in the College of Fine Arts, you have many people to support you. As College of Fine Arts academic advisors, we can create success where you study at the U:

  • Learn about the course requirements for your major and University graduation requirements, including general education and bachelor’s degree requirements

  • Connect with University opportunities and resources, including other majors and minors that might interest you

  • Navigate University and departmental polices and procedures, including your student rights

Your Rights as a Student

Your educational record is an important part of your education. Once you are an enrolled student, the rights granted to you by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) means that the advisor cannot discuss your educational record, including grades or your transcript with any third-party outside of the University without your consent.
