Associate Director, Production & Season Planning
Roles & Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP

  • Serves on the SOD leadership team, offering input on various leadership decisions

  • Oversees high-level coordination of the SOD production season, in collaboration with the Director and Production Director

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

  • Coordinates & oversees photo shoots

  • Reviews & approves photos from all production photo shoots (typically dress rehearsal & Monday after studio shoot)

  • Collaborates with Marketing & Communications Specialist on season marketing materials

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications Specialist on season announcement

GUEST ARTISTS & REPERTORY

  • Tracks potential guest artist possibilities, including recommendations from faculty & students

  • Tracks repertory and supports a rotation that ensures we present a range of styles and opportunities for students

  • Proposes guest artist & season plan to Director, considering input from faculty & students and budget constraints

  • Works with Director to contract & schedule guests

  • Once contracts are complete, coordinates guest visits (collaborating with SOD leadership & Concert Directors as appropriate)

CONCERTS

  • Serves as mentor for faculty concert directors

  • Ensures concert directors are upholding responsibilities (might include sending reminders & supporting the Marketing & Communications Specialist in upholding deadlines

  • Creates audition announcements for Fall concerts and supports Concert Directors on Spring concert audition announcements

  • Ensures that the Concert Directors collect post-concert survey data, consolidate, and share results with SOD leadership as requested
