Associate Director, Graduate Studies
Role & Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP

  • Serves on the SOD leadership team, offering input on various leadership decisions

  • Serves as Chair of the SOD Graduate Studies Committee

  • Regularly attends campus-wide DGS meetings and represents the SOD

RECRUITMENT

  • Coordinates and implements recruitment plan and efforts for graduate degrees (Ballet, Modern Dance, & Screendance)

  • Coordinates with the Director, Administrative Manager, and Marketing & Communications Specialist on marketing efforts

  • Serves as point of contact for all prospective graduate students

MANAGEMENT

  • Ensures that website information remains accurate and up-to-date

  • Collaborates with Director and Administrative Manager to ensure policies, processes, and forms are efficient and up-to-date

  • Collaborates with Director and Administrative Manager to ensure application processes are updated annually

ADVISING/SUPERVISORY

  • Serves as primary point of contact for prospective and current graduate students

  • Meets regularly with graduate students to assess progress and offer support as needed

  • Ensures that graduate students’ supervisory committees are populated in a timely manner

  • Supports all graduate students through registration process each semester to ensure timely graduation

  • Supports all graduate students through the thesis processes to ensure timely graduation

THESIS CONCERT

  • Serves as the Faculty Advisor for the thesis concerts that occur in MCD

  • Coordinates with SOD administration and production team


Responsibilities outlined in this policy are in effect from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.
