Atlantic Center for the Arts: Residency #195

Atlantic Center for the Arts is happy to announce Residency #195 featuring dancer/choreographer Molissa Fenley.

The three-week residency runs from October 5–25, 2025 and is located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Molissa Fenley is one of the most influential artists of postmodern dance, she has had a lasting impact on performance. In dance, she has explored extreme effort and duration in highly crafted patterns and performed with an explosive, joyous energy that infused her work with endurance, balance, and life force. She challenged modern dance orthodoxy and redefined the character of a woman’s moving body in the late twentieth century, bringing post-modernized ritual to the stage.

Coming up on our 50-year anniversary, Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) is an immersive, inter-disciplinary, process-based, mentoring residency situated on 69 acres of a pristine forest preserve. Each residency is for three weeks and includes 3 Mentor/Master Artists (MAIR) who select 8 Associate Artists who apply to work with them.

Room and board are included with private accommodations and weekday meals provided for all participants.

NOTE: We have an abundance of scholarship money available that can drastically reduce the residency fee.
