Suzanne Haag

Suzanne Haag is a choreographer based in Eugene, Oregon. She was named associate artistic director of Eugene Ballet in 2025, where she has served as resident choreographer for the past 7 seasons. She is also the co-founder of #instaballet, a community organization focusing on access to dance through free, interactive performances and educational workshops. 

Suzanne has performed with The Hartford Ballet, The Indianapolis Opera Company, DROP Dance Collective, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Ballet Idaho, and Eugene Ballet. She holds a B.S. in Arts Administration from Butler University. 

For Eugene Ballet, Suzanne has created over 13 new works including interpretations of Stravinsky’s The Firebird and Petrushka, as well as collaborations with percussionist Pius Cheung (Heaven and Earth), author Gregory Ahlijian (The Large Rock and The Little Yew), internationally renowned band Pink Martini, The Eugene Opera, videographer Katherine Frizzell/Gravy Media and 2-time Grammy nominee, Tracy Bonham. In November of 2025 she premiered her first full-length work, Dracula, for Eugene Ballet. 

She has been an artist in residence at the National Choreographers Initiative, UNCSA’s Choreographic Institute, University of Utah, Texas Christian University’s School of Classical and Contemporary Dance, the University of Oregon, the National Dance Institute, and Dance Lab New York’s More to the Pointe Lab. Suzanne was a 2017 and 2018 finalist in the McCallum Theatre’s Choreography Competition (Palm Desert, California). In 2019, she received a New York Choreographic Institute Commission Initiative award from the New York City Ballet and the Oregon Arts Commission’s Joan Shipley Fellowship. In 2022, she was awarded a Lane Arts Council Artist Grant Award for the film Confluence, which was then selected for the 2024 Women Choreographers of the Pacific Northwest Festival.
